Social impact assessment
The activities of governments and businesses can have negative impacts on the lives of everyday people. Without proper planning and engagement with the affected people, policies, programs and corporate operations can impact on people’s amenity (enjoyment of their physical environment) as well as their physical and mental health and wellbieng.
Social impact assessment helps organisations to be proactive about their operations and the way they work with the communities where their operations are located. Our approach is built on the international principles for social impact assessment. We use an internationally recognised process for assessing the social impacts of planned interventions or events. We use the findings to develop strategies for the ongoing monitoring and management of those impacts.
As well, we use the process to identify opportunities for client organisations to contribute positively to communities and enhance their reputation for corporate social responsibility.
