Social Research
We use a variety of qualitative methods to gain insight and strategic understanding of people and issues – including ethnographic fieldwork and site visits, individual depth interviews, focus groups, community visioning, deliberative democratic research as well as desk research and documentary analysis.
Social research for policy development is about more than analysing content or information on a particular topic. We help our clients across all stages of program development, implementation and review:
• |
defining an issue |
|
• |
formulating the problem to be addressed |
|
• |
specifying objectives and outcomes |
|
• |
identifying decision parameters, including resources, timelines and audiences |
|
• |
collecting information and insights, and detailing options - noting their social, economic, political, environmental, technological and legal implications |
|
• |
recommending possible courses of action, including an evidence-based implementation plan |
|
• |
evaluating the social impact of programs on people |
